TaxFightBack is an informational tool for property tax appeal preparation. We do not provide legal, tax, or appraisal advice. We do not file appeals on your behalf. Results are not guaranteed.

Not legal, tax, or appraisal advice

The information on TaxFightBack is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not legal, tax, financial, or appraisal advice, and reading it does not create any professional or advisory relationship. For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed attorney, a CPA or tax professional, or a licensed appraiser. Your county assessor's office can also answer procedural questions directly, at no cost.

No guarantee of any savings or outcome

TaxFightBack does not guarantee that your assessment will be reduced, that your tax bill will go down, or that an appeal will succeed. We publish no projected savings and no success rates, because every appeal depends on your property, your evidence, and your county board, and the decision belongs to that board, not to us. An appeal can end with a lower value, and it can also end with no change. Anyone who guarantees a reduction is promising something they do not control.

We do not file or represent you

TaxFightBack prepares self-help materials. We do not file protests or appeals on your behalf, we do not appear at hearings, and we are not your agent or representative before any assessor, board, or court. You review, sign, file, and present everything yourself. Some jurisdictions allow licensed agents or attorneys to represent property owners; if you want representation, hire a professional who is authorized to provide it where you live.

Packets, comparables, and calculators are planning tools

Our appeal packets, comparable-sales selections, analyzer results, and calculator outputs are informational starting points built from public data and the details you enter. They are not appraisals, market valuations, or predictions of what a board will decide, and their accuracy depends on the data available for your area and the information you provide. Confirm anything you plan to rely on at a hearing against your county's own records.

Deadlines are strict and set by your county

Appeal windows are short, they differ by county and state, and missing one usually ends your appeal for the year regardless of merit. Treat your assessment notice and your county's official instructions as the controlling word on your deadline, and confirm dates directly with your assessor's office rather than relying on any general timeline published here.

Rules vary and change

Assessment practices, exemptions, forms, and appeal procedures differ by state and county, and they change from year to year. Content on this site may not reflect the most recent change where you live. Before you rely on anything here, confirm the current rule with the authority that sets it, which usually means your county assessor or appraisal district, your county appeal board, or your state department of revenue. If this site and an official source ever disagree, the source is correct.

About the consultant directory

Listings in our property tax consultant directory are informational, compiled from publicly available sources. A listing is not a referral, an endorsement, or a verification of any provider's license, registration, or qualifications. Confirm credentials directly with the provider and, where your state registers or licenses tax agents, with the state body that oversees them.

We are an independent publisher

TaxFightBack is an independent business. We are not a law firm, an appraisal firm, a tax consultancy, or a government agency, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorized to act on behalf of any county assessor, appraisal district, appeal board, or state agency. Names of offices and programs are used only to help you identify the correct authority to contact.

External links

Where we link to county, state, and other government pages, we do so to point you to the authority behind a rule. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability. A link is not an endorsement, and an outside page may change after we reference it.
